Tell Them We Are Rising (Film Screening) and Panel
ThinkTV and the Wilberforce University’s Office of Academic Affairs have partnered to present a screening of the new Independent Lens documentary, Tell Them We Are Rising. The rich history of America’s Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) began before the end of slavery, flourished in the 20th century, and profoundly influenced the course of the nation for over 150 years — yet remains largely unknown. This film tells the powerful story of the rise, influence, and evolution of HBCUs. See more at the Independent Lens website.
You’re invited to a screening of Tell Them We Are Rising on Tuesday, February 13, from 5:30pm to 7:30, in the Lower Lecture Hall in the Louis Stokes Building at Wilberforce University. The screening will include a showing of the film followed by a panel discussion with Wilberforce University President Elfred A. Pinkard and other distinguished guests. To RSVP, please contact Marguerite at firstname.lastname@example.org or call (937)220-1600.
This event is part of the Wilberforce University Bayard Rustin Lycem Series.
