In 2010, filmmaker Eric Mahoney, (“Brainiac: Transmissions After Zero.”) released his first documentary. Letting the subjects do the talking, he takes the viewer into the off kilter world of “N. Dixie Drive”, the main artery of the heart Northridge neighborhood of Dayton, Ohio. Time stood still in this area for generations. On the night of Memorial Day in 2019, the landscape was forever changed by an EF4 tornado. This screening serves as both benefit and a celebration of one of Dayton’s most endearing cultures. Homes and business are still in ruins as insurance adjusters, permit processes and utility companies take on the Herculean task of recovery. 100% of proceeds from this screening and DVD purchases go to Northridge neighborhood recovery efforts.
Please come support our neighbors to the north and see this historical document of Dayton’s N. Dixie Drive.
Soundtrack for this film features Northridge native and international indie rock heavy hitter and world known collage artist, Robert Pollard. Many landscapes are featured in music videos by Pollard and his band “Guided By Voices”, making this neighborhood a tourist stop for indie rock fans visiting from around the world.
